Jade Thirlwall fans are ‘not ready’ for shocking new music, promises collaborator

Kamille insists fans are “not ready” for Jade Thirlwall’s new music.

The Little Mix star will release her debut solo single ‘Angel Of My Dreams’ on July 19, and her longtime collaborator – who helped write the girl group’s hits like ‘Black Magic’ and ‘Shout Out To My Ex’ – has been given a sneak peak of the new material.

Kamille told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Oh, you are not ready for the new Jade music. It’s very dreamy, airy.

“No one is going to expect this. I’ve only heard a few songs and it’s worth the wait.”

Jade, who is just going by her first name as her new moniker – has described her first single as “a pop punch to the face”.

Announcing the song, she said in a statement earlier this week: “What I’m going for is a pop punch to the face.

“I want people to be like, ‘Oh my God, I didn’t expect that’ – but then want to listen to it again.”

The 31-year-old singer – who co-wrote the single in Los Angeles with other writers including Steph Jones – wanted to make sure she was taking a risk rather than playing things “safe” with her first track.

She explained: “I didn’t want to do a safe first single, that was really important to me.

“I’m setting the tone of who I am as an artist on my own. I want people to hear it and be like, ‘What the f*** is that song?’

“My worst nightmare is for someone to hear my song and go, ‘That’s nice.’ “

With Little Mix on hiatus since 2022, Perrie Edwards and Leigh-Anne Pinnock have already embarked on their own music careers, while Jesy Nelson went solo when she quit the group in 2020.

Now, it’s time for Jade to take the spotlight.

She said: “The fans have waited long enough so now we just want to give it to them.”
