Jacqueline Jossa was ‘desperate’ to shoot dramatic Queen Vic fall

Jacqueline Jossa was "desperate" to shoot dramatic scenes where she fell off the Queen Vic roof.
The ‘EastEnders’ actress – who portrays Lauren Branning in the show – was forced to reveal to producers she was expecting her second child with husband Dan Osborne because she was concerned about the stunt, and though she was given the opportunity to opt out of the tricky scene, she still wanted to go ahead.
She said: "I kept it to myself as I was so early in my pregnancy, but when it came to the day we were due to film my fall from the pub roof, I confided in a couple of people.
"’EastEnders’ were great and gave me the option of not continuing with the scenes as they were planned, but I was desperate to and also knew how safe it was.
"The stunt man reassured me I had nothing to worry about as I only had to step back a short distance and fall on to some foam and it was actually really good fun."
And though Jacqueline – who also has two-year-old daughter Ella and is stepmother to Dan’s four-year-old son Teddy – wanted to keep the news quiet, her co-star Jo Joyner, who plays her on-screen mother Tanya, had guessed her happy news.
Jacqueline told OK! magazine: "I was trying to keep it a secret but Jo Joyner guessed while we were filming the Christmas Day episode.
"We were standing in the rain and she said, ‘It’s a good job no one is pregnant’ then looked straight at me and gave me a knowing look.
"I wasn’t planning on telling any of them but she caught me off guard and I ended up confessing.
"It was so nice to work with Jo again, it’s a shame she couldn’t have done more episodes but she had other filming commitments."
