Jack P. Shepherd only watches his scenes in ‘Coronation Street’ – and then skips through the rest of the episode.
The 28-year-old actor – who has portrayed bad boy David Platt in the long-running soap since 2000 – has admitted he thoroughly enjoys seeing himself on screen but doesn’t have the patience to watch a full episode.
Speaking to Inside Soap magazine, he said: "I always watch my own scenes and fast-forward through everything else. I just watch me. I really enjoy watching my scenes back. I’m confident but not arrogant with it."
Meanwhile, the handsome star may have spent over a decade-and-a-half on the soap but he has admitted he’s never been drawn to the idea of spreading his wings.
He said recently: "I’ve never had itchy feet. I’ve been lucky enough to get the plots, I suppose. The Platts are a prominent family on the Street and have always been at the front of the big stories. I feel very lucky to be a Platt! But if the work did dry up and we weren’t getting great stories, then I probably would want to spread my wings."
However, David finds himself getting a bit frustrated when he’s ordered to play bad David for too long.
He added: "I like the fact there’s a good David and a bad David. I enjoy playing evil David, but I don’t like to be evil for too long because you get stuck. If you’re always going to be bad, you have to leave – a villain can’t really be put into other stories.
"I love to have the comedy, the emotion and everything that goes with it. Then you get the bigger picture."
