J.K. Rowling ‘can’t stop crying’ over Orlando shooting

J.K. Rowling "can’t stop crying" about one of the victims of the gun attack on a gay club in Orlando, Florida, on Sunday (12.06.16).
Some 49 people were killed by gunman Omar Mateen at Pulse, making it the deadliest mass shooting in recent US history, and the best-selling author has taken to Twitter to pay tribute to one of the victims.
She wrote: "Luis Vielma worked on the Harry Potter ride at Universal. He was 22 years old. I can’t stop crying. #Orlando."
The ‘Harry Potter’ author published the words alongside a picture of Luis wearing his employee uniform, which featured a Gryffindor tie.
What’s more, J.K. retweeted a message from a fan, who said she worked with Luis, and revealed that another Universal employee had been seriously injured in the deadly attack.
She wrote: "I’m praying Tony pulls through. My thoughts are with all of you. #LoveIsLove #Orlando."
As well as the lives lost in the attack, some 53 people were also injured by the gunman, who opened fire at the well-known nightclub.
In light of the attack, the Tony Awards were dedicated to the Pulse victims, while host James Corden, opened the show with a touching tribute to the victims.
The British actor and comedian said: "Good evening. All around the world, people are trying to come to terms with the horrific events that took place in Orlando this morning. On behalf of the whole theatre community and every person in this room, our hearts go out to all of those affected by this atrocity.
"All we can say is that you are not on your own right now, your tragedy is our tragedy. Theatre is a place where every race, creed, sexuality, and gender is equal, is embraced, and is loved. Hate will never win.
"Together, we have to make sure of that. Tonight’s show stands as a symbol and a celebration of that principle. This is the Tony Awards."
