ITV confirm Palladium show return

ITV is bringing back ‘Sunday Night at the London Palladium’.

The station have lined up a number of top comics to host the variety show, including Rob Brydon, Jimmy Carr, Bradley Walsh and Jack Whitehall, when it returns in a prime time slot next month.

The six-part series – which will return to its original home at the 2,200-seat Palladium theatre – also has a host of guests booked already, including comedy sets from Alan Davies, Sarah Millican and Milton Jones.

Gemma Arterton’s new musical, ‘Made in Dagenham’, will be awarded a slot on one of the programmes, while a diverse bill of musicians have been booked, including Neil Diamond, Art Garfunkel, Bryan Adams, Maroon 5, The Script, Nicole Scherzinger and Little Mix.

An ITV spokesperson said: "Some of the UK’s best-loved comics and entertainers will host one show each and introduce some of the biggest stars from music and comedy.

"There will be jaw-dropping acts from around the world, plus surprise guests."

‘Sunday Night at the Palladium’ pulled in highs of 28 million viewers during its initial run from 1955 to 1967.

The show drafted in some of the biggest stars on the planet to perform at the London Palladium, including The Beatles, Judy Garland, Sammy Davis Jr., the Rolling Stones and Liberace, while Sir Bruce Forsyth, Bob Monkhouse and Des O’Connor were among the original hosts.

It was revived for a year in 1973, and has also spawned a number of spin-off shows, including ‘Tonight at the London Palladium’, which aired in 2000.
