Isle Of Wight Festival to return in 2017

The Isle of Wight Festival is to return in June 2017.
The award-winning music extravaganza, which is held at Seaclose Park in Newport, Isle of Wight will celebrate its 16th anniversary with four days of live music from June 8 to June 11.
While it is not yet confirmed who will headline next year, rumoured acts include Guns N’ Rose Beyonce, Coldplay, Phil Collins and Green Day.
It comes after it was reported to have been cancelled due to an alleged row with the local council over the hire fee for the park its held at.
Last year’s festival was a triumph with musical legends Queen + Adam Lambert, The Who, Iggy Pop and many more gracing the main stage.
Meanwhile, the event’s organiser, John Giddings, previously said he was unsure about booking Adam Lambert because he wasn’t convinced the group would work as a major attraction without late frontman Freddie Mercury.
He previously told BANG Showbiz: "The thing about Adam is I was really unsure about booking them. It took them two years to persuade me. But Adam’s great isn’t he? All the girls love Adam. I kept getting all of these tweets and Facebook messages saying how much they love him. It’s incredible. As for Brian May and Rodger Taylor, they are the biggest rock gods you could ever meet in your life. They are like Genesis; they are like Pink Floyd. They know the story, they’ve been through it."
However, he was blown away after they closed this year’s festival.
The ‘We Will Rock You’ hitmakers – guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor – and the ‘Four Your Entertainment’ singer brought the weekend to a close with a mind-blowing two-hour long set.
Queen frontman Mercury – who tragically died in 1991 at the age of 45 – was remembered as a video of him singing the second verse of ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ was played on stage and on ‘Love of My Life’, which was a duet with Brian.
Over the years Isle of Wight Festival has seen a whole host of legendary acts perform including the Rolling Stones, Bon Jovi, Fleetwood Mac, David Bowie, The Killers, Paul McCartney and Coldplay.
Tickets for the Isle of Wight Festival go on sale on November 7 at 9am.
