Isaac Hempstead Wright’s ‘intense stare’ is because he is ‘blind’

Isaac Hempstead Wright says his "intense stare" on ‘Game of Thrones’ is aided by the fact he is "completely blind".
The 19-year-old actor – who plays Bran Stark in the HBO fantasy drama series – left fans deeply unsettled during the first episode of season eight when his character, the Three-Eyed Raven, stared at Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) as he arrived at Westeros.
And Isaac has admitted that the key component to making his intense glare look so "good" is not wearing his glasses or contact lenses, so he actually can’t see any of the characters on set.
Speaking on Jimmy Kimmel Live, he said: "I’m getting good at this intense stare but it’s actually aided by the fact I’m completely blind when I’m on set. I don’t have my glasses and I don’t have contact lenses."
Isaac recalled when he was doing a scene with Sophie Turner – who plays Sansa Stark – and how she found the stare to be very deep until he explained what was actually going on.
He added: "I was doing one scene with Sophie Turner in season seven and she said ‘Isaac, your stare is like you’re staring into my soul’, and I was like, ‘I can’t see you. That’s why.’ "
The star also revealed that his mother had to give him "the sex talk" early.
He added: "I was pretty much told what was going on but it just meant that my mum had to give me the sex talk a little earlier."
