‘I’m gonna come for you’: Cyndi Lauper fiercely shuts down heckler at Vegas residency opener

Cyndi Lauper fiercely shut down a heckler on the opening night of her Cyndi Lauper: Live in Las Vegas residency.

The Girls Just Wanna Have Fun hitmaker was performing at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace on Friday (24.04.26) when her introduction to Sally’s Pigeons was disturbed.

In an expletive-laden rant, she moaned: “I don’t know what the f*** you’re saying, hon.”

She went on: “But please remember where you are, OK?

“Because if you’re trying to shade me, b****, I’m gonna come for you.

“I’m from Brooklyn, and if I wanna f****** talk, I will do a tap dance if I f****** want. Sorry, that of course is not part of my people skills.”

Last year, Lauper was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame by Chappell Roan.

Sharing how influential she had been on her career, the Pink Pony Club hitmaker – who recreated Lauper’s look from her True Colors music video – told the crowd at the ceremony: “It’s that courage that not only creates incredible art that gives everyone who experiences it the permission to be themselves — it opens their hearts, it changes their mind, and that is its power. Tonight, we honour a woman who redefined what a pop star could look like, sound like, and be.”

In her own speech, the ’80s icon quipped: “See what happens when you let the riff-raff in?”

Tipping the hat to the female artist before her, she said: “I just want to say that I stand on the shoulders of the women who came before me, and my shoulders are broad enough to have the women who came after me stand on mine.”

She concluded: “The little kid in me still believes that rock and roll can save the world. I just want to say now of all time, let’s come together again and do good in the world because it needs us.”
