Idina Menzel thinks dating as a single mother "sucks".
The 43-year-old singer split from her husband Taye Diggs in December after 10 years of marriage, but she doesn’t feel ready for another relationship because she’s worried how their four-year-old son Walker will cope.
Speaking to Sean Valentine on his radio show ‘Valentine in the Morning’, she said: "I don’t want to keep introducing him to people and having him form bonds and then take them away, you know."
The brunette beauty, whose parents divorced when she was a teenager, thinks Walker is at an age where he won’t be particularly affected by his parents’ divorce.
She explained: "I went through it when I was 15 years old. I keep telling myself, because I feel so badly for him, it’s better that he’s four-and-a half than when he’s 15. He has two parents that love him very much and we want to be great mums and dads. At 15 I was too aware, I thought I was an adult, and I got in the middle of everything and I took on the stress for both of them."
Meanwhile, Taye went public with his new girlfriend Amanza Smith Brown at the 2014 BET Awards last weekend after their relationship became public knowledge just four months after his split from Idina.
