Ian Wright gets axed from I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!

Ian Wright has been booted off ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’.
The 56-year-old former professional football player has become the latest contestant to get axed from the creepy-crawly programme, shot in Australia, after the British public failed to save him in Wednesday (04.12.19) night’s show.
Speaking after his exit, Ian told hosts Ant and Dec: "I feel it’s time [to leave]. It’s becoming more and more difficult to focus on being positive and you’ve got people around you who need you to be positive. I found towards the end, especially young people, you need to be positive. My time has come."
The sportsman decided to go into the jungle because he wanted to test himself but he didn’t realise he had so much "work" to do on his mental and emotional side.
He explained: "I needed a new challenge and the challenge I got wasn’t what I was expecting … It was a more mental thing. I found the mental side of me, I’ve got a lot of work to do… I can’t express enough how incredible the people are in there. I’ve got to be a little bit calmer … I lose it too quickly …"
Although he’ll miss seeing his fellow camp mates every day, Ian has admitted he won’t miss the "boredom" because that’s when he has time to build up anger.
He said: "I won’t miss the boredom… that’s when things start to fester… I will definitely miss the campmates."
Now that his journey is over, Ian would like to see former ‘EastEnders’ star Jacqueline Jossa walk away with the jungle crown.
He said: "I love Jacqueline, everyone knows this, I would probably go with Jacqueline, because she’s absolutely blasted everything she’s done."
