Hundreds line streets to pay tribute to Eddie Large

Hundreds of people lined the streets of Bristol to pay tribute to Eddie Large on Friday (24.04.20).
The late comedy legend – who tragically passed away on April 2 at the age of 78 after contracting coronavirus – was honoured by friends and fans as his funeral cortege made its way along the High Street in Portishead to the South Bristol Crematorium.
Mourners observed social distancing guidelines as they applauded the late star’s coffin, as he made his final journey.
Only 10 close family and friends were permitted to attend the funeral, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and his professional partner Syd Little – who was accompanied by his wife Sheree – delivered a eulogy.
Eddie’s son Ryan McGinnis wrote on Twitter: "Today I say goodbye to the best Dad I could ever have asked for.
"I hope I made you proud & that I continue to do so. I will miss you so much & will cherish all the happy memories. I will miss chatting everyday about @ManCity and your unconditional love for us. Bye Dad#eddielarge (sic)."
Syd previously admitted he is still struggling to come to terms with the passing of his long-time friend, who contracted coronavirus while in hospital.
He said: "It’s an emotional rollercoaster at the moment. I miss him greatly. I still can’t get it out of my head."
And Ryan revealed the family were finding the social distancing guidelines tough.
He explained: "The only thing that makes it awkward is that other than mum and I, the rest of my family, and Syd and his wife, live up in Manchester or Blackpool, so it’s quite a long journey for them just to come down.
"Obviously they can’t come down the night before and stay.
"They can’t come up to our flat and have a drink or anything like that. It’s just down and straight back up. That’s probably the hardest part."
