Honey G confirms record deal talks

Honey G has confirmed she’s in talks with Syco about a record deal.
The ‘X Factor’ wannabe rapper – who was given the boot from the singing competition in Sunday (27.11.16) night’s show – has admitted it won’t be the last fans see of her as the show’s boss Simon Cowell’s label are considering signing her in the near future.
Speaking on ‘Lorraine’ on Monday (28.11.16), Dan Wootton said: "I can reveal Lorraine that if you think this is the end of Honey G you will be mistaken because I’ve been told by some of the top bosses at Syco that they do believe that potentially there could be a commercial proposition here for a future music career."
And Honey – whose real name is Anna Georgette Gilford – believes Syco is the best label for her because she’s already built up a relationship with them.
She explained: "I entered ‘The X Factor’ because I wanted a record deal. I’m not really interested in anything else apart from getting signed to get a record deal. Obviously, with Syco, I know the team really well. We get on really well so it would be lovely to be signed by them because the relationship is already formed."
The 35-year-old star has been hitting the headlines week-in week-out since she auditioned for the programme because fans believed she was a "novelty act", but she’s adamant music has always been a big part of her life.
She said: "I’ve come from a musical background the whole of my life. My mum is a pianist, I’ve grown up as a musician, I’ve got a degree in music production and composition, I’ve been involved with BBC Radio 1Xtra, which is the UK’s biggest black music radio station. I’ve been in to rap the whole of my life, I’ve been producing for about 15-20 years and I’ve been rapping for about four or five years."
And, although music is something she wants to focus on for the time being, Honey would also like to settle down in the near future and start a family.
She explained: "I’m single. I am looking for love, I really want to have kids soon and obviously I just want to get a long-term partner before I decide to have kids."
