Homes Under The Hammer fans left fuming as Prince Charles news delays show

‘Homes Under The Hammer’ fans were left fuming when news of Prince Charles contracting coronavirus delayed today’s show – with some even branding him "selfish".
Clarence House confirmed earlier today (25.03.20) that the 71-year-old royal had tested positive for the respiratory virus, but an extended bulletin about the shock news ran over the property show’s time slot.
One viewer tweeted: "Been waiting 20 minutes for homes under the hammer to start and selfish Prince Charles has ruined it (sic)"
Another wrote on Twitter: "Went to put Homes Under the Hammer on, but the BBC has decided to show us endless footage of the royal family because Prince Charles has tested positive. So have many others and we have enough news coverage of it! B***dy hell (sic)"
One posted: "I can’t believe Homes Under The Hammer was bumped for news coverage that one of the richest pensioners in the world who lives a luxury lifestyle has tested positive for Covid19 (sic)"
One fan of the show suggested the country "revolt" against the BBC, writing: "Bumping ‘Homes Under The Hammer’ for the news of Prince Charles was a step too far. Let’s revolt! (sic)"
A Clarence House spokesperson confirmed the Prince of Wales had been diagnosed with the virus after he experienced "mild symptoms", but he is in "good health" and has managed to continue working from home while self-isolating with his wife, Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, who does not have the virus, at the Balmoral estate in Scotland.
They said: "The Prince of Wales has tested positive for coronavirus. He has been displaying mild symptoms but otherwise remains in good health and has been working from home throughout the last few days as usual.
"The Duchess of Cornwall has also been tested but does not have the virus. In accordance with Government and medical advice, the Prince and the Duchess are now self-isolating at home in Scotland."
Former ‘Homes Under the Hammer’ presenter Lucy Alexander – who has children Kitty and Leo with husband Stewart Castledine – took to Twitter on Tuesday (24.03.20) to announce three members of her family have contracted the virus.
The 49-year-old star wrote: "Just putting a big cuddle out there for people & families who are coping and suffering with #COVID-19 at home.
"3 of us in our household are suffering (all symptoms not tested obvs ) and it can be scary. Keep drinking resting & taking that paracetamol. Keep talking. Twitter hugs. (sic)"
