Hollyoaks to return on September 7th

‘Hollyoaks’ will return on September 7th.

The Channel 4 soap has been off air as a result of running out of episodes due to the enforced production break during the coronavirus lockdown, but new episodes will air in less than two weeks, beginning on September 7th at 6.30pm on Channel 4.

‘Hollyoaks’ will return with the wedding of Scott Drinkwell (Ross Adams) and Mitchell Deveraux (Imran Adams), and beforehand the soap will air a recap week of episodes to get the soap’s fans back up to speed.

But the nuptials could end in disaster as the show’s July trailer saw Mitchell’s father Walter Deveraux (Trevor A Toussaint) vowing to sabotage the spectacle, despite the best efforts from Joel Dexter (Rory Douglas-Speed) who pleads with him to see past his beliefs for one day.

At the reception, Felix Westwood (Richard Blackwood) sets his sights on party guest Grace Black (Tamara Wall) while juggling his two dates Lisa Loveday (Rachel Adedeji) and Martine Deveraux (Kelle Bryan).

And it may not be a happy-ever-after for Mitchell after it was revealed earlier this month Imran has quit the soap.

A rep for the show said: "Imran Adams will be leaving ‘Hollyoaks’ later this year at the end of his current contract."

But earlier this year, Imran admitted he hoped his alter ego could have a happily-ever-after.

He previously said: "It’s been a whirlwind. This is the first time my feet have touched the ground, it’s happened so fast.

"The Deveraux family expanding, Mitchell and Scott’s relationship developing and evolving – it’s been a lot, and I’ve enjoyed it a lot.

"I think Mitchell has had a lot to deal with, but fingers crossed he can finally have his happy-ever-after – we’ll see!"
