Hollyoaks’ Malique Thompson-Dwyer questioned why he had to take his top off for his storm rescue scenes.
The 20-year-old actor admits it was an "absolutely amazing experience" shooting the nail-biting sequence which saw his alter-ego Prince McQueen and Romeo Quinn (Owen Warner) take their shirts off and dive into the water to save Lily McQueen (Lauren McQueen) – despite already being soaking wet from the rain.
Malique said: "I actually asked the same question, ‘Why am I taking my top off?’ "
And while the star enjoyed shooting the scenes, he found it tough because he cannot hold his breath for long.
He said: "It was an absolutely amazing experience, I’ve never done anything like that before, it was a challenge.
"We had to go to a pool to film it, it was a challenge because I can’t hold my breath for very long."
Lauren has starred in ‘4 O’Clock Club’ and ‘Ordinary Lies’, but admits the storm scene was the "scariest thing" she’s ever had to do – because she is "not the biggest fan of water".
Speaking at a ‘Hollyoaks’ Storm Week Q&A, she said: "It was the scariest thing I’ve had to do, I’m not the biggest fan of water, I wasn’t sure how long I could hold my breath.
"We had a full day in Blackpool, we did it in a big tank, not the little pond in Hollyoaks, but we learned to breathe in the glass bottles and stuff.
"I was proud of us all in the end, it was a real achievement."
