Hollyoaks fire claims second victim

‘Hollyoaks’ killed off Joe Roscoe in a dramatic fairground fall on Tuesday (01.11.16).
This year’s spectacular stunt claimed its second life on the E4 first-look episode when the maze fire started by sinister Cameron Campbell (Cameron Moore) spread to the ferris wheel where the loveable mechanic (Ayden Callaghan) and newly-reconciled fiancee Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe) were stranded.
Though Mercedes was rescued from the wheel, Joe was forced to attempt to jump to the safety of a cherrypicker, only to slip and later be pronounced dead in hospital in tear-jerking scenes surrounded by his fiancee and brothers Freddie and Darren.
Though Cameron currently thinks he’s got away with murder again, it was also revealed in the episode that Tegan Lomax (Jessica Ellis) and Scott Drinkwell (Ross Adams) had captured the moment where he deliberately set the maze on fire, killing obsessive teen serial killer Nico Blake (Persephone Swales-Dawson) so as to get her out of his daughter Peri’s (Ruby O’Donnell) life for good.
However, with Celine McQueen (Sarah George) having wandered away from her laptop before the deadly moment flashed up on her screen, his involvement remains a secret – for now.
And it seems Cameron – who also killed his girlfriend Leela’s parents in a deliberate car crash, as well as his own brother Lockie – may be getting his comeuppance before the year is out.
Show boss Bryan Kirkwood recently said: "Leela, Cameron and Tegan will loom large over Christmas. What I love about our stunt episodes is that they are always a launch pad for our next gigantic chapter.
"Stories don’t end with our stunts and Cameron is going to take centre stage over the next two months. There is a huge, huge bombshell in our Christmas episode."
