Holly Tandy ignores ‘negative’ trolls

Holly Tandy is determined not to be put down by trolls during her ‘Eurovision’ journey.
The 17-year-old singer will compete against Anisa, Jordan Clarke, Kerrie-Anne, Maid and Michael Rice on TV show ‘Eurovision: You Decide’ for the chance to represent the UK at the ‘Eurovision Song Contest’ in Tel Aviv this year, and insists she won’t let "negative" comments affect her.
She said at the BBC ‘Eurovision’ press event: "I don’t really pay attention to negative views or anything.
"My mum and dad are great, they give it me real and they have kept me grounded throughout my career so far so I am very lucky for that.
"It’s a huge show. It’s the biggest music contest in the world I am really proud to be part of it.
"And I’m so ready to get on that stage and perform my songs."
The ‘Only for Tonight’ hitmaker is honoured to be part of ‘Eurovision’, because it uses music to bring people together.
She added: "’Eurovision’ to me means unity through music and music is fantastic, there are all sorts of genres and we are really lucky to have music."
The contestants will share three songs, ‘Bigger Than Us’, ‘Freaks’ and ‘Sweet Lies’.
The brunette – who will sing ‘Bigger Than Us’ – is glad audiences will get to see two versions of the same song and then decide their favourite.
She said: "It’s really interesting that both of us are doing the same song but it’s in a different style.
"I think that’s great for the audience to be able to digest that and see what really resonates with them.
"Because both might have a different meaning but come across the same on the night.
"It’s a really great opportunity for us to put our own stamp on the song."
‘Eurovision: You Decide’ airs on February 8th, hosted by Eurovision 2015 winner Mans Zelmerlöw and TV presenter Mel Giedroyc.
