Helen Skelton’s kids try to zipwire out of window after being inspired by her Celebrity SAS stint

Helen Skelton’s children have taken inspiration from her time on ‘Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins’ – by trying to zipwire out of a bedroom window.

The 36-year-old TV presenter – who has Ernie, four, and Louis, three, with husband Richie Myler – caught her sons attempting to copy their mum after she let them watch her jump out of a helicopter on the Channel 4 survival show.

She told RadioTimes.com: "I only let them watch little bits, like when we jumped out of the helicopters, and they love it. We take them to rugby and the football, so they know all the bad words already.

"I’ve made a rod for my own back because yesterday I caught them trying to zipwire out the bedroom window."

The Channel 4 show sees a team of former Special Forces soldiers, including Ant Middleton, put a group of celebrities through an adapted version of the torturous selection process cadets must pass to join the Army’s elite regiments.

Helen was "terrified" of the crew and couldn’t help but think the worst was going to happen.

She said: "I was terrified of all the SAS staff, you take it really seriously when they’re shouting and barking at you.

"You never know what’s coming next – every time you’re dragged out somewhere you don’t know what you’re doing and you’re constantly building it up in your head that something horrific is going to happen. It’s hard to quantify the toll it takes on you."

The ‘Countryfile’ presenter admitted she barked back at the soldiers.

She recalled: "At one point during my interrogation they were shouting at me, and I said, ‘You’re not going to get a recommission if you carry on like this, I didn’t sign up for this!’

"But they’re all pushing us as far as they can and we did sign up for that. There are just moments where you think, ‘What is happening?! This is too much!’"
