Helen Flanagan’s Corrie exit storyline revealed

Coronation Street’s Rosie Webster will quit Weatherfield after being offered a job on a Japanese TV game show – following an appearance on ‘This Morning’.
The loveable ‘Corrie’ character will depart the cobbles next week when Helen Flanagan – who plays the ditsy receptionist – goes on maternity leave, but not before her alter-ego appears on the famous brunch time show’s sofa alongside Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby.
Rosie is to engineer a drugs bust with the help of Craig Tinker (Colson Smith) and Gemma Winter (Dolly Rose Campbell) in next week’s episodes, and is delighted when the ITV show’s bosses request an interview with the trio to hear all about their success. Following the ‘This Morning’ appearance, Rosie is approached by a modelling agent and later reveals she has been offered a job in Japan working on a TV game show.
Holly and Phil recently shot the upcoming scenes, and the TV presenter admitted she was "nervous" about learning her lines, despite having some previous acting experience.
She said: "I was in ‘Miss Marple’ playing a witch who got burnt.
"I didn’t have to act much though as I didn’t have any words! I was nervous learning my lines this time.
"I’m fine with the autocue stuff but it’s the other bits that are more tricky. I’m trying to stick to my lines too and not ad lib."
Phil added: "There are awkward silences during the scene on the sofa. We would never let that happen in real life.
"That was really fun. There was a lot of laughter on set. I have to say I enjoyed that."
However, Rosie’s departure is not all fun and games because shortly before she departs the cobbles she accidentally leaves late Underworld boss Aidan Connor’s (Shayne Ward) will on the photocopier at the solicitor’s office.
