Heidi Klum champions Gigi Hadid for Project Runway role

Heidi Klum thinks Gigi Hadid would make a great replacement on ‘Project Runway’.
The 45-year-old supermodel is leaving the programme after 16 seasons and thinks the 23-year-old model would be perfect for the role.
She told Us Weekly magazine: "I know that Gigi’s [Hadid] name has come up. I think she would be amazing. She has had so much success in this industry. I think she would be a great fit. I’ll miss the amazing team that we had. You know, especially at Lifetime, I love them. None of these people will be doing it going forward because it’s someone new now. I wasn’t sure how it was going to be there, so I think that was a good opportunity now with the switch to actually say like, ‘You know what, this baby is old enough. 16 years old. I’m ready to work on a new one.’ Sometimes these kind of things happen and then you look at it from all angles and you say, ‘Actually maybe now is a good time to freshen this up.’ It needs to be freshened up, so I felt like it was the right thing to do … I was ready for a change."
Heidi announced earlier this month that she has quit ‘Project Runway’.
She said: "After 16 incredible seasons, I am saying ‘Auf Wiedersehen’ to ‘Project Runway’, a show that I was honoured to host and help create. I am incredibly proud of the show, and it will always have a special place in my heart.
"I am so appreciative of the dedicated fans, and most of all, I am grateful that we could shine a light on creativity and help launch so many talented designers’ careers. I’m most excited that my journey with my dear friend and colleague, Tim Gunn, is far from over. We will be partnering with Amazon for a new show, and we’re excited for everyone to see what we’re designing next!"
