Halestorm’s Lzzy Hale dumped guy for falling asleep at Tool concert

Halestorm frontwoman Lzzy Hale once dumped a guy for falling asleep at a Tool concert.

The 41-year-old rocker was disgusted that the man named Nate had dozed off during the heavy metal band’s concert in Hershey, Pennsylvania, as she had paid for the tickets out of her measly paycheque from waitressing and had originally planned for her younger brother and bandmate, Arejay Hale, 36, to go with her.

She recalled to Guitar Player magazine: “I had a s***** waitress job, and I got us tickets to see Tool at Hershey Park.

“I was so stoked. Then Arejay [Hale] did something to p*** off our parents, so they wouldn’t allow him to go.

“I thought, ‘OK, this could be an opportunity to ask somebody out on a date,’ which I did. I asked this guy Nate, and he said yes. I was like, ‘Sweet!’ We didn’t have great seats, but it didn’t matter – the show was amazing. I was singing every word.

“Halfway through, I looked at my date and saw that he had fallen asleep – total deal-breaker for me.”

Lzzy’s sibling won’t let her live it down.

She added: “My brother still teases me about it: ‘I wouldn’t have fallen asleep.’”

Halestorm are in the final stages of their first studio album since 2022’s ‘Back from the Dead’ and have been working with Chris Stapleton and Brandi Carlile’s producer Dave Cobb.

Lzzy told Metal Hammer: “We’re almost done.

“We’ve been writing while touring, so it’s been crazy. Dave Cobb is also producing it – he’s worked with so many of the great voices of Americana, but he’s also a closet metalhead! So he’s had so much fun.”
