Haim star thought she was ‘hallucinating’ when she heard about Grammy nomination

Alana Haim thought she was “hallucinating” when she heard Haim had been nominated for Best Rock Album at the 2026 Grammy Awards.

The sister trio – completed by Este and Danielle Haim – were left stunned when they received the nomination as they are the first all-female group to receive the nod from the Recording Academy.

Alana told the BBC: “I watch the nominations every year, so it kind of feels like The Truman Show when your name is read out.

“I had to call my sisters to say, ‘Did I hear this right or am I hallucinating?'”

The fact that it was the first time the girls set out to make a proper rock album with I Quit makes it all the more special.

Alana said: “We really set out to make a rock album this time, so it’s a huge milestone.

“But we’re just grateful for the women that came before us.

Este chimed in: “All we looked up to were women rock artists.

“That was our world, growing up, whether it be Stevie Nicks, or Joni Mitchell, or Pat Benatar.”

Haim will be up against Deftones’ private music, Turnstile’s NEVER ENOUGH, Linkin Park’s FROM ZERO, Idols by Yungblud.

The Grammys take place on February 1, 2026, in Los Angeles.

Despite venturing into acting. Alana insists music will always come first.

The Licorice Pizza star said: “Me and my siblings have been playing music since I was four years old.

“It’s like there’s nothing else that we were supposed to do. And I’m really grateful we’ve gotten here and we’re still kicking.”
