Guns N’ Roses star Slash reveals new album plans

Guns N’ Roses star Slash has revealed they are planning to start recording new material.

The band hasn’t released a new album since Chinese Democracy in 2008 but Slash has suggested there’s “a lot of writing going on” and he hopes the rockers will be able to get back into the studio to record some new tracks.

Slash made the revelation as he opened up about his future plans once the Guns N’ Roses tour concludes later this year, explaining he’s finished work on a new record with Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators and he’s planning to schedule a tour with his collaborators as well as some of his own international dates focused around his 2024 blues album Orgy of the Damned.

Speaking to Rolling Stone Australia editor-in-chief Neil Griffiths, Slash explained: “We just finished the new record that’s coming out after this Guns [Guns N’ Roses] tour, and then we’re gonna go on the road.

“[The album with Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators] comes out in February [2027]. So right after this [Guns N’ Roses] tour’s over, that one [ with Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators] starts up … We have about a year to do it – a little less than a year to do the whole planet.

“So there you go.”

He went on to add of his plans with Guns N’ Roses: “There’s a lot of writing going on with Guns [Guns N’ Roses], so after I get back from that, we’ll see if we can start putting some stuff together and getting in the studio.”

Slash concluded : “I also have that blues thing which I need to do an international tour for. I only did a U.S. tour on that. So I’ll put another record together with those guys and put it out and figure out some window that I can go do an international run with that.”

He added of working with Guns N’ Roses: “When I got back together with Guns, I had no inclination of breaking that up. And I do it because I love to do it … I just love jamming with those guys, and we get together and we just play. It’s also very simple.”
