Guns N’ Roses detained in Canada for gun possession

Guns N’ Roses were detained at the Canadian border for gun possession.
The rockers were travelling to Toronto for a gig last Friday (15.07.16) when they were stopped by custom officers, who found a weapon on them.
But they were soon let go and frontman Axl Rose insisted the gun didn’t belong to him.
During the concert on Saturday (16.07.16) the singer spoke to the crowd about the incident before playing ‘Out Ta Get Me’.
He recalled: "You did what? What? ‘Oh, yeah, we found a gun.’ So we weren’t exactly arrested, we were detained."
Speaking about the custom officers he said: "They were very nice. They were very understanding. You know, it happens – you can forget you had a f**king gun."
He then sarcastically laughed and shrugged and said: "It wasn’t my gun."
A representative for the band said: "Yes, this indeed happened on Friday, July 15, as they were crossing the border coming from the Philadelphia tour stop on the 14th." The spokesperson said the gun did not belong to any member of the band.
The gig was the band’s only Canadian date on its ‘Not In This Lifetime Tour’, which finishes in November.
In a 1988 Axl revealed he had been arrested in Canada before as he had a stun gun on him.
He said: "This year, I was only arrested once at the Canadian border, for my stun gun. I didn’t know they’re illegal there."
