Gregory Porter to become first celebrity to sing CBeebies Bedtime Story

Gregory Porter will become the first star to sing a CBeebies Bedtime Story.
The international jazz and soul singer will belt out ‘Moon River’ when he appears on the much-loved children’s bedtime show, ‘CBeebies Bedtime Stories’.
Gregory will sing the classic ballad from Breakfast At Tiffany’s on the show as part of BBC Teach’s Bring the Noise campaign – which aims to help children to discover the joys of music-making – while Chip Crawford accompanies him on the piano.
The show will air on Friday 22 November along with book illustrations by Tim Hopgood. He says: "Welcome to my recording studio.
"I’m Gregory, my friend Chip and I were just playing one of my favourite songs, In fact, I was hoping I could sing it to you for tonight’s bedtime story."
The Grammy Award winner will follow in the footsteps of other artists – including Dolly Parton, George Ezra, Sir Elton John, Guy Garvey and Mark Ronson – to have appeared on ‘CBeebies Bedtime Stories’.
Gregory added: "It was an honour to perform a lullaby for ‘CBeebies Bedtime Stories’. ‘Moon River’ is one of my all-time favourites, so to be able to sing it, to inspire dreaming is pretty cool."
The children’s TV show has hosted many celebrities from different genres since its launch in 2009, including including Tom Hardy, Suranne Jones, Eddie Redmayne, Jessica Ennis-Hill, David Tennant, Damian Lewis, Tim Peake and US actor Chris Evans.
Rob Delaney became the first person to sign a CBeebies Bedtime Story.
He did so in Makaton, which he learned to communicate with his late son Henry who tragically died at the age of two.
In a statement released on the CBeebies Twitter account last November, Rob said: "Our family learned Makaton to be able to communicate with our son Henry.
"We’re sad Henry isn’t here to see it but we’re happy other families will get to enjoy a story told in Makaton."
