Greg Wallace admits he’s the "fat dad" of the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ cast.
The ‘MasterChef’ presenter is slimmer now than he’s been in years thanks to the work he’s been doing with his on-screen dance partner Aliona Vilani, but concedes he still has a belly and feels self-conscious when surrounded by the more toned members of the ‘Strictly’ line-up, especially former rugby player Thom Evans.
Writing in his column in The Daily Telegraph newspaper, he revealed: "I was pleased with my outfit of sparkly trousers and nice waistcoat, until I walked out of the dressing room and saw Thom Evans in trousers four times tighter than mine and a shirt slashed to the waist.
"I had to slink off, crestfallen. I’m not the hot young thing; I’m the fat dad."
Greg also revealed his 17-year-old daughter Libby can’t bring herself to watch her dad on the show because she fears he’ll embarrass himself on the danceflor.
Of his girlfriend, Anna-Marie, Greg says there’s a danger she will be jealous "seeing me with my arms around another woman".
He added: "I know ‘Strictly…’ has spawned romances galore, but I absolutely love my Anna and can safely say there is not that sort of chemistry between me and my professional partner, Aliona Vilani."
