Green Day to play a 90s and a 00s album in FULL on Saviors World Tour

Green Day will play albums ‘Dookie’ and ‘American Idiot’ in full on their upcoming ‘Saviors World Tour’.

The ‘Good Riddance’ hitmakers – made up of Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, and Tré Cool – took to social media to tell fans they will be playing their 1994 and 2004 records in full each night of their global tour.

In a post on their X account, the band wrote: “BIG news! Each night of The Saviors Tour we’re playing both Dookie AND American Idiot in full AND a bunch of your other favorites new and old all summer long all fueled by @MonsterEnergy. You’re not going to want to miss this one! (sic)”

Green Day fans will no doubt be pleased to hear the likes of ‘Longview’, ‘Basket Case’, ‘Welcome to Paradise’, and ‘When I Come Around’, which all appeared on ‘Dookie’, will be played at their upcoming run of shows, as well as ‘American Idiot’ songs ‘Holiday’, ‘Boulevard of Broken Dreams’ and ‘Wake Me Up When September Ends’.

The Smashing Pumpkins, Rancid, The Hives, Nothing But Thieves, Donots, The Interrupters, Maid Of Ace, and The Linda Lindas will join Green Day as support acts at selected shows.

Green Day previously described their ‘Saviors’ LP, which will be released on Friday (19.01.24), as an “invitation” in the band’s “brain”.

In October, they posted on Instagram: “Saviors is an invitation into Green Day’s brain, their collective spirit as a band, and an understanding of friendship, culture and legacy of the last 30 plus years.

It’s raw and emotional. Funny and disturbing. It’s a laugh at the pain, weep in the happiness kind of record.

Honesty and vulnerability.

What is Saviors about, you ask?

Power pop, punk, rock, indie triumph. disease, war, inequality, influencers, yoga retreats, alt right, dating apps, masks, MENTAL HEALTH, climate change, oligarchs, social media division, free weed, fentanyl, fragility,,..

What would Andy Warhol do?

What would John Waters do?

What would Quentin Tarantino do?

What would GREEN DAY do?

Saviors, out January 19th, 2024. Limited exclusive vinyl is available for pre-order now (link in bio).

The first single “The American Dream Is Killing Me” is out now. Watch the epic video on YouTube (sic)”
