Graeme Swann confirmed for Strictly Come Dancing

Graeme Swann has been confirmed for ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The former England cricket ace has become the sixth name revealed for the upcoming series of the popular BBC Latin and ballroom dance competition, it was announced on Wednesday (15.08.18) during BBC Radio 2’s Drivetime show presented by Angela Scanlon and OJ Borg.
Speaking about the news, Graeme said: "It’s true – I’ve signed up for ‘Strictly’! I’m hoping to follow in the footsteps of the cricketers who’ve come before me who’ve either won the whole thing or had an absolute ball on the show. Keeping it under wraps from my kids has been nearly impossible; they are huge fans of the show and I can’t wait to see their faces when I tell them. I don’t have any background in dancing but can do the floss so let’s hope this comes in useful!"
Graeme, 39, made his England Test match debut in 2008 as part of the team against India, and he went on to become one of the side’s best ever spin bowlers.
The highlight of his career came as he played in the England side which claimed the Ashes back from Australia, where he delivered the winning wicket which secured victory.
Graeme will join previously announced names including Vick Hope, Katie Piper, Faye Tozer, Danny John-Jules and Joe Sugg.
Speaking previously about joining the show, radio DJ Vick said: "I’m so excited about being a contestant on this year’s ‘Strictly’.
"I’ve always been such a massive fan of the show so it’s a huge honour to be part of this series."
Whilst former Steps star Faye added: "Being on Strictly is literally a dream come true! It’s everything my nine year old self ever wanted from showbiz and I’m going to relish every moment!"
