GMB and This Morning extended in ITV schedule shake up

‘Good Morning Britain’ and ‘This Morning’ will be extended by 30 minutes from early January as part of an ITV scheduling shake up.
The morning news show – co-hosted by the likes of Piers Morgan, Susanna Reid, and Charlotte Hawkins – will start at its usual time of 6am and run until 9am, half an hour later than normal from January 6th 2020.
‘Lorraine’ will then begin at the earlier time of 9am until 10am, followed by ‘This Morning’ – which currently begins at 10.30am – at 10am until its usual finish time of 12.30pm.
Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield – who present the brunch-time show from Mondays to Thursdays, with Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes hosting on Fridays – will then hand over to ‘Loose Women’ for its unchanged 12.30pm to 1.30pm slot.
Phillip and Holly announced the news on ‘This Morning’ today (12.11.19), and were clearly excited about the half an hour extension.
She said: "Two-and-a-half hours, yikes! I’ll be able to sing and dance and do all sorts of things."
Phillip added: "What fun we’re going to have."
The changes come after ‘The Jeremy Kyle Show’, which used to air in between ‘Lorraine’ and ‘This Morning’, was axed earlier this year after a guest was found dead after appearing on the programme.
Following the May cancellation, ‘Dickinson’s Real Deal’ took The Jeremy Kyle Show’s place in the 9.25am to 10.30am time slot, and ‘Judge Rinder’ now airs at that time.
The schedule changes mean ITV’s daytime schedule will be fully live from 6am to 1.30pm on weekdays.
