‘Strictly Come Dancing’ star Giovanni Pernice’s partnership with Debbie McGee is reportedly making his secret lover jealous.
The 27-year-old star danced with Luba Mushtuk on his previous tour and the duo have been close for a number of years – but Luba is said to be unhappy about Giovanni’s chemistry with Debbie, 59.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Luba and Giovanni are together. But she doesn’t like Debbie because of their bond – she feels how much Gio cares for her.
"It’s also upsetting as she would like their romance to be out in the open. Luba is very keen to be on the show one day.
"She assists with choreography. But that means she has to spend a lot of time watching Giovanni rehearse with Debbie which can be uncomfortable for her."
Debbie has excelled during her time on the BBC dancing competition and is widely expected to challenge for the coveted ‘Strictly’ trophy as the series draws to a conclusion.
The TV personality has admitted to sharing a magical relationship with her on-screen partner, but Debbie has previously denied that they are anything more than just good friends.
Debbie – who was married to magician Paul Daniels from 1988 until his death last year – explained: "It’s absolutely great people think he fancies me.
"We have a chemistry, a great sense of humour, we both make each other laugh and that has brought us together.
"We have a very special friendship. People see us dancing these sexy routines and then we are pictured having lunch together so assume something must be going on.
"The truth is we really like each other but it isn’t a love affair. We love each other, but we are not in love with each other. It’s just one of those very special friendships."
