Gigi Hadid throws shade at One Direction

Gigi Hadid has taken a swipe at One Direction saying she prefers Zayn Malik’s solo music.
The 21-year-old supermodel – who is dating Zayn – has admitted she wasn’t much of a fan of the ‘History’ hitmakers’ songs growing up and she would much rather listen to the former One Direction star’s songs, whilst admitting she "maybe" can’t name one track by the boy band that she likes.
During her first appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ on Wednesday night (09.11.16), she said: "I grew up in a household where my stepdad was a classical musical producer – Andrea Bocelli, Josh Groban – that was the music I was into. I think we can all name a One Direction song that we like. Or maybe not. I love Zayn Malik solo a lot more!"
Zayn, 23, quit the biggest boy band in the world – also comprised of Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne – in March 2015 and has made it very clear he didn’t like their "generic" sound, which was one of the things that spurred on his decision to quit the band because of the vocal restrictions he was forced to comply with.
He previously explained: "There was never any room for me to experiment creatively in the band. If I would sing a hook or a verse slightly R&B, or slightly myself, it would always be recorded 50 times until there was a straight version that was pop, generic as f**k, so they could use that version.
"Whenever I would suggest something, it was like it didn’t fit us. There was just a general conception that the management already had of what they want for the band, and I just wasn’t convinced with what we were selling."
The ‘Perfect’ hitmakers are now on an extended hiatus – a decision they announced shortly after Zayn’s departure – so they can focus on solo projects and take a much needed break.
