Geri Horner: The Spice Girls are like a marriage

Geri Horner has likened being in the Spice Girls to a "marriage".
The 45-year-old singer is excited about possibly reuniting with her bandmates – Emma Bunton, Mel B, Mel C and Victoria Beckham – and has likened their close bond to the kind of a connection people get when they’re in a relationship.
She said: "[It’s like] a marriage. We got together when we were in our early 20s. Emma was 18. 20 years have passed. And to have that connection and maintain it, find that commonality, sometimes you have got to … hold on to that."
And Geri hopes what they are planning together will appeal to the "new generation" too.
Speaking on Sunday Brunch, she added: "We’re talking about [a reunion]. We want to do something for our fans and the new generation. We are putting all the possibilities out there so watch this space … It’s brilliant. We got back in the room together and said, ‘Yes. Let’s do something. Everyone has busy lives. We’ve all got children and different careers. So to get them all in a room was lovely. I did actually give them some chocolate brownies that I made. There’s something wonderful about making food and bringing people together."
A source previously revealed that the Spice Girls are planning to perform live in a series of stand-alone shows.
The insider shared: "Given the family situations, committing to a gruelling mega world tour was always a tough ask. When they got back together this month to discuss reforming, a mammoth tour was dismissed by the majority.
"But performing together again certainly wasn’t, so the idea of playing a few huge shows in various cities was one that received the most interest. However, that’s just one aspect of the comeback they’re exploring, with the TV show element their likely priority, especially in the short-term."
