Geri Horner boycotts The Crown

Geri Horner has boycotted ‘The Crown’ until she finds out if the Royal Family like it.
The former Spice Girls singer was a huge fan of the first series of the Netflix drama – which chronicles the life of Queen Elizabeth, who is played by Claire Foy, from the 1940s – but refuses to watch the second season because it started to make her feel "unpatriotic".
She said: "I loved the first series of ‘The Crown’. But I’ve had to stop watching the second series. It’s all about affairs and terrible things going on in their private life.
"I feel embarrassed watching it because I love the queen. She’s incredible. But this is her family. Our Royal Family. It’s not ‘Dallas’.
"I can’t watch it until I know what they think of it. It makes me feel unpatriotic."
The 45-year-old singer admitted she would be happy to return to the series if she knew it had the Royal Family’s approval, and often wonders what the 91-year-old monarch would say to Claire should they ever meet.
Speaking to the Mail on Sunday’s Event magazine, she added: "I keep thinking, what is Claire Foy going to do if she ever has to meet the queen – or what would the queen say to her? I want to find out what the Royal Family think about it. If they aren’t watching it, I’m not going to."
Matt Smith – who portrays Prince Philip in the drama – recently admitted he was "disappointed" at having to depart the show after two series with the cast changing to allow for the fact the royals are getting older.
He said: "I’m bloody p***ed off they’re kicking us all out, bloody disgraceful.
"I’d be lying if I said I’m not disappointed. I’m scared I’ll never land as great a part again. But there’s an excitement to being able to pass the baton on."
