Gerard Bulter to face Compare The Market ad

Gerard Butler is to be the new face of the Compare The Market adverts.

The ‘Bounty Hunter’ star has reportedly been "tapped" by bosses of the insurance company who think he is the perfect choice to appear alongside meerkats Aleksandr Orlov and Sergei in the infamous ads.

A source shared: "Gerard was tapped up by bosses. They thought he was perfect for the role. Despite being a Hollywood superstar, he doesn’t take himself too seriously."

Gerard’s war flick ‘300’ has been chosen as the inspiration for the ad, which means he will most likely show off his impeccable torso as seen in the movie.

Filming is said to commence in the summer and the commercial will follow shortly after.

The insider told The Sun newspaper: "He’s likely to film his part later this summer and the ads will be on screen soon after."

This would be the first time the actor has done anything for UK television.

The price comparison website will have paid a hefty price to have the Scottish-born actor – who’s estimated net worth is $35 million – endorse their product.

He will follow in the footsteps of Arnold Schwarzenegger, who appeared alongside Aleksandr and Sergei in a comical advert earlier this year.
