Georgia Taylor found it "really tough" to film "heart-breaking" ‘Coronation Street’ scenes where her character reveals all about her baby secret storyline.
The 38-year-old actress’ alter-ego Toyah Battersby will finally let her partner Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) know that their baby actually belongs to Eva Price (Catherine Tyldesley), and Georgia admits the emotional moments were "really full on" to film.
She said: "Toyah and Peter have had their ups and downs but this was something else, these scenes are really full on.
"It’s really heart-breaking to see because, for once, Peter hasn’t done anything wrong, he really hasn’t!
"Chris is fantastic, he is just wonderful and I have loved working with him since I’ve been back."
As well as finding out his baby is not his, Peter will discover his and Toyah’s surrogate tragically lost their real baby months ago.
Georgia said: "It’s horrendous because this isn’t just about Toyah telling Peter that Susie is not her child, what she has also failed to tell Peter is that their baby has died so this is a real double-whammy.
"So for Peter to try and process all of this information; the fact that their child died months ago and he hasn’t been given the opportunity to grieve for their baby, the betrayal, the anger, the hurt, the grief, it just explodes in him and he is in so much pain."
After months of keeping the baby secret, Georgia is pleased Toyah eventually takes control of the situation and tells Peter what has been going on.
She added: "It is a really interesting, clever way to go about it because it takes back some ownership. Toyah is owning her mistake, her lies and she is strong enough to hold her hands up and claim some responsibility for her actions. She is trying to be an honest, truthful person which I hope shows, as complicated a person she is, she is ultimately a good person.
"I think it’s a really brilliant choice and I’m glad the writers went that route with it."
