Gemma Atkinson "wishes" she was in a relationship.
The ‘Emmerdale’ star would love to settle down and get married one day but wants to find the right person first.
She told Women’s Health magazine: "No, I’m not dating anyone at the moment. I wish I was. It’s like I go through phases. I said to my mum the other day, ‘It’d be nice to have a fella.’ Then the day after, I was like, ‘I’m so glad I’m on my own!’
"I’d much rather be on my own and be happy than be in the wrong situation with the wrong person. I would love marriage and I would love kids, but not until I’m in a place where I’m ready for them. I don’t want to just fit the mould because I’m running out of time. No chance!"
At the start of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’, Gemma confessed she was hoping to find romance on the BBC latin and ballroom show.
She said: "I’ve been single for ages so there wouldn’t be any curse for me. It would be a blessing."
However, the 33-year-old actress – who has been romantically linked to ‘Strictly’ professional Gorka Marquez – insists she won’t be getting into a relationship during her time on the show.
She revealed: "Maybe once the series is over, but not right now … we’ll see what happens. I know people want to see a Strictly romance but I’m not going to be giving you any I’m afraid, because I’m so focused on my dancing."
