Gemma Atkinson and Gorka Marquez’s relationship has been strengthened through their joint-workouts.
The 33-year-old actress started dating Spanish dancer Gorka, 27, after she participated on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ in 2017, and fitness-obsessed Gemma has admitted that their mutual love of exercise has strengthened their bond.
She shared: "What I personally love about working out with Gorks is that he’s good at motivating me.
"We both work crazy hours and it’s sometimes difficult for us to get a bit of time in together. We have a laugh and it’s a nice bit of healthy competition when we are exercising."
Gemma explained that her desire to be healthy can be traced to her dad, who died of heart disease at the age of 52.
Speaking on ITV’s ‘Lorraine’, Gemma explained: "My dad was 52, very healthy, he didn’t smoke.
"He drank now and again and he passed away from heart disease."
Besides their love of exercise, Gemma also considers the dancer to be her best friend and the blonde beauty is already thinking about having children with him.
She said: "Outside of the gym there is a mutual understanding.
"Being best mates as well – it sounds cheesy. It’s fun really. In ten years, when I hopefully have a couple of kids running around, I don’t want to get out of breath running up the stairs after them.
"It’s nice to have someone tell you ‘you are beautiful’ regardless."
Meanwhile, Gorka revealed he loves Gemma’s sense of humour, and he considers himself "lucky" to be dating the former ‘Emmerdale’ actress.
He explained: "She makes me laugh, she makes me happy. I’m lucky to have her beside me."
