Gary ‘Gaz’ Beadle "will always have a place" for Charlotte Crosby in his life.
The ‘Geordie Shore’ hunk split up with his former co-star – who he dated on and off for five years – once and for all earlier this year after he cheated on her while she was pregnant with his baby but, although they are no longer on speaking terms, he’s adamant he’ll always care for her.
Speaking on ‘This Morning’ on Thursday (01.09.16), he said: "We don’t really talk at the moment but me and Charlotte went through a crazy five years. There was a lot of pressure on our relationship …
"I think it took one of us to leave ‘Geordie Shore’ for us both to move on with our lives. She’s left now, she’s got on with her life, she’s dating now, I’ve started doing my own thing, she’s doing her thing and I think eventually we’ll both move on with the next chapter of our lives … I’ve always got a place for Charlotte in my life. I haven’t got a bad word to say about her. I hope one day we can still be friends and we can look back on it and laugh about it because one of my funniest times on the show were with Charlotte."
The turbulent lovers came to blows after Gaz flew out to Thailand to film ‘Ex on the Beach’ and was caught on camera locking lips with another woman.
He said: "It was me that messed up. We were kind of seeing each other again and I said, ‘Look it’s kind of make or break.’ I got drunk and I got with another girl. I knew straight away that I’d messed up.
"[Getting drunk] isn’t an excuse but if I hadn’t done that then I would have come back and me and Charlotte would be alright. I messed up."
And, although he’s devastated they didn’t work out, the 28-year-old heartthrob hopes the blonde beauty, 26, finds a "nice lad" to settle down with.
He explained: "I’m happy for, I hope the dating thing goes well and I hope she finds a nice lad. I want her to find a nice lad."
Gaz and Charlotte first got together when they joined boozy show ‘Geordie Shore’ back in 2011 and, since then, they’ve been on and off.
However, the final straw came earlier this year when Charlotte tragically suffered an ectopic pregnancy, in which the foetus develops outside the womb, and she was rushed into theatre for a life-saving operation.
While she was fighting for her life in surgery, Gaz was in Thailand and reportedly refused to return to the UK.
