Gavin Rossdale’s secret love for One Direction

Gavin Rossdale is a secret One Direction fan.
The Bush rocker – who has three sons, Kingston, 10, Zuma, eight, and Apollo, two, with ex-wife Gwen Stefani – enjoys a lot of the British boy band’s songs and thinks former member Zayn Malik’s debut single ‘Pillowtalk’ was the best thing he heard last year.
He admitted: "There’s a bunch of One Direction songs that I think are really good. And Zayn’s ‘Pillowtalk’ is probably the best record of last year."
The 51-year-old musician can now play piano after being urged to take lessons by Coldplay frontman Chris Martin but wishes he’d learned much earlier.
He said: "My biggest regret is that I didn’t learn piano from an early age. Chris Martin is a friend and he encouraged me to have lessons in my forties."
Gavin insists he doesn’t live up to any of the stereotypes of being a rock star.
He said: "[The biggest misconception about me is] that because I’m in a rock band I’m a loud, Jack Daniels-swigging misogynist. I’m none of these."
But the ‘Swallowed’ hitmaker does like to be in control of what’s going on with his band.
He told Grazia magazine: "I get uptight if I delegate and somebody does something nonsensical.
"Recently a blurb went out about the new Bush record and I got frustrated when I found mistakes."
