Gary Lucy ‘surprises’ Hollyoaks co-stars with dance moves

Gary Lucy rolled back the years to his ‘Dancing on Ice’ days by "surprising" his ‘Hollyoaks’ co-stars with his moves at a post-work party last weekend.
The 36-year-old actor – who plays Luke Morgan in the Channel 4 soap, and finished runner-up on ‘DoI’ in 2010 – threw some serious shapes on the dance floor at the Liverpool-based bash, according to his colleague Ross Adams (Scott Drinkwell), who was left impressed by Gary’s boogying.
He said: "I know it sounds incredibly cheesy, but we really are like family and it was great to have a dance and a giggle with everyone outside of work.
"Steph Waring and I are best mates, so she’s always a brilliant dance partner, but Gary Lucy clearly remembers all his dance training from ‘Dancing On Ice’ too because he surprised us all with his expert moves on the dance floor."
Ross also chatted to Gary’s on-screen wife Sarah Jayne Dunn (Mandy Morgan) about their real-life weddings at the party, and their conversation sparked an idea that he and husband Phil Crusham could renew their wedding vows in the next few years.
He said: "Sarah Jayne Dunn and I swapped wedding stories as we both got married earlier this year and it’s funny how once the magic of a wedding is over, everyone wishes they could do it all over again.
"Maybe we need to get planning a vow renewal ceremony in a few years?
"Although it’s probably best I don’t mention that to Phil because if I do, he’ll start planning it. Honestly, I’ve never met anyone who loves planning and organising as much as he does."
Ross admits he and Phil don’t always attend the cast’s parties in Liverpool because they don’t live in the city, but he was "so glad" they went to the latest bash.
Writing in his OK! Online column, he added: "We live in Manchester, so sometimes miss out on those kind of occasions – but with the light nights and sun shining, it seemed daft not to and I’m so glad we did."
Before starring on ‘Hollyoaks’, Ross used to work behind the scenes on rival soap ‘Coronation Street’, and recently revealed he used to be faced with "unbelievable" stress trying to get Michelle Keegan (Tina McIntyre) ready on time for awards ceremonies.
He said: "When I actually started I was the PA to the producer of Coronation Street, so my job back then was that I used to get the cast ready for the awards.
"I used to make sure that they were on the red carpet on time. The stress I had with Michelle Keegan to get her ready on time. It was unbelievable."
