Gareth Gates snubbed The Jump offer

Gareth Gates was asked to compete on this year’s ‘The Jump’.
The 32-year-old singer has admitted he snubbed an offer to join the winter sports show, which saw Beth Tweddle crash and break her neck, earlier this year out of fear he’d hurt himself really badly.
He explained: "I was asked [to do ‘The Jump’] but I’m not sure. I did ‘Dancing on Ice’ with Beth Tweddle [in 2008] – she’s an Olympic athlete and she bloody broke my neck. I’d definitely break something. I sprained my ankle the other day at Ascot."
However, although the former ‘Pop Idol’ star is quite picky when it comes to what reality TV shows he agrees to, he has admitted he’d love to land a role in the comedy ‘Benidorm’ and thinks he’d fit in perfectly because of his glowing tan.
He explained: "I’ve actually always had a dream to be in ‘Benidorm’ – it’s hilarious and I’d fit in well with my tan. It’s fake!"
And, if ‘Benidorm’ doesn’t work out for him, Gareth is hoping bosses of ‘Emmerdale’ will consider dishing him out a part.
Speaking to new! magazine, he said: "I’d have to do something like ‘Emmerdale’ because I’m from Yorkshire."
He certainly won’t be short of training as his girlfriend Faye Brookes currently stars as Kate Connor in ‘Coronation Street’.
