Gal Gadot: Princess Diana was like Wonder Woman

Gal Gadot thinks Wonder Woman and Princess Diana share a lot of similar qualities.
The 32-year-old actress – who has daughters Alma, six, and Maya, seven months, with husband Yaron Versano – believes her superhero character is so popular because she is very compassionate and she thinks she adopts the same approach to life that the late princess, who died in a car crash in 1997, used to.
Discussing her character’s popularity, she said: "I remember a quote from Princess Diana where she hit the nail on the head. She said she worked from the heart and not the head and I think that Wonder Woman, Diana Prince, is the same.
"I know one Diana was real and the other isn’t, but Wonder Woman is such a great character because she works from the heart.
"She only means well, and the fact she’s so strong and mighty, and the most iconic warrior, doesn’t take away her femininity."
The ‘Justice League’ star believes her comic book alter ego perfectly captures the strength women have within them and she thinks she’s a great female role model.
She added to Glamour magazine: "I think that’s the strength of women; that we can be strong – I don’t mean just physically, although physically as well – but at the same time we can be connected to our emotions and be sincere and honest. This is our strength.
"We are so exposed all our lives to amazing male superheroes and never to one really good female superhero and I think Wonder Woman really captures the beauty of what it means to be a woman."
