Freema Agyeman doesn’t watch ‘Doctor Who’.
The British actress starred as Martha Jones in the BBC One sci-fi series from 2006 to 2010, but has confessed she doesn’t bother to follow the fortunes of the Time Lord anymore.
The 35-year-old star told BANG Showbiz: "I actually don’t watch ‘Doctor Who’. I’m one of those actresses who doesn’t watch a lot of TV, to be honest. I mean, I loved spending time on the show, but I probably haven’t watched it for the last five years."
Although she doesn’t watch the programme – in which Peter Capaldi now stars as the Twelfth Doctor – Freema is still very proud to be associated with the long-running series.
She said: "I love the concepts of the show and I still go to conventions and stuff. People ask me things about the show but they’re shocked to learn that I don’t know much about it. I watched the years before and after I was on it, but I haven’t continued watching it."
Freema – who is currently starring in new audio-drama ‘Six Degrees of Assassination’ – insists a surprising number of actors don’t watch TV.
She explained: "I’m like a lot of actors and actresses – I don’t watch a lot of TV. And I used to feel really guilty about that until I spoke to other actors about it and they said they don’t even own a TV."
