Ferne McCann and Charlie Sims’ relationship is "better" now he has quit ‘The Only Way is Essex’.
The couple have endured turbulent times and split on several occasions since joining the show last year and though they don’t get to spend as much time together now Charlie has stepped out of the spotlight, his girlfriend insists they are getting on better than ever.
She said: "It’s a little harder for me and Charlie to see each other as we’re not filming together any more, but his break from ‘TOWIE’ has made our relationship better.
"Putting your romance on TV is such a stress.
"It’s actually been easier for our relationship not being on the show as we don’t have the pressure of a romance in the spotlight."
Ferne, 24, also admitted she worried about her own future on the programme when Charlie announced his intention to leave.
She explained to Closer magazine: "I did worry what it meant for me and the show because we came on it together. Hopefully viewers think I’m good enough on my own."
