Fans want Taylor Swift to present Kanye West with VMA

Fans want Taylor Swift to present Kanye West with his award at the VMAs.

MTV have announced the rapper will receive the iconic Video Vanguard Award at Sunday’s ceremony (30.08.15) and numerous Twitter users are hoping the ‘Shake It Off’ hitmaker will give him the award, six years after he famously interrupted her acceptance speech for the Best Female Video accolade at the event to insist Beyonce should have won it.

One user, @ODedOnRealityTV, wrote: "@taylorswift13 needs to present Kanye’s Vanguard Award or else I’m sad (sic)."

Another, @crazymusicfacts, added: "Kanye is going to receive the Video Vanguard Award? Will @taylorswift13 interrupt him? Or will she present it to him? #Swifties (sic)."

The incident at the 2009 ceremony proved to be a major controversy with President Barack Obama even branding the 38-year-old rapper a "jacka*s" following the stunt.

But while some people have suggested Taylor, 25, could prove she’s over the spat by giving him the award, others have suggested she gives him a taste of his own medicine by staging her own interruption.

One man, Rik Anthony, tweeted: "MTV to Award Kanye West the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award on Sunday. I think Taylor Swift needs to interrupt his getting the award."

Charlie Piper echoed the proposal, writing: "Kanye West is getting the MTV Video Vanguard Award. Ooooh, Taylor Swift – this is the moment you’ve trained for!! (sic)"

And Eymar Antigua added: "Am I the only one who hopes that @taylorswift13 runs up on the stage when @kanyewest receives his MTV award and says "Ima let you finish" (sic)."
