Eyal Booker defends Love Island bosses

Eyal Booker has shot to the defence of ‘Love Island’ bosses after Ofcom received more than 2,500 complaints about Sunday night’s (01.07.18) episode.
The 22-year-old model was booted off the ITV2 show last week before the episode, in which Dani Dyer was shown a clip of her boyfriend Jack Fincham revealing in second villa Casa Amor that he used to date one of the new Islanders, Ellie Jones.
But Eyal insists the contestants were already warned that producers would be "testing" them within their relationships.
He said: "In the show’s defence, before we went in to the villa they told us this is a show about testing you within your relationships and within your couple.
"Jack and Dani up until that point had never been tested. Nothing that Dani was shown didn’t happen. It was just a very short clip. And within that villa you overthink everything … they knew she was going to do that."
But Eyal was glad to see Dani didn’t stray from Jack, despite fearing the worst about what he may or may not have been up to in Casa Amor.
Speaking to BUILD in London, he added: "In order to test her to see if she goes, ‘Screw him,’ and goes to another guy straight away, which she didn’t.
"So she stood by her beliefs."
UK communications regulator Ofcom initially received 650 complaints from viewers about the way Dani was treated in the episode after she was shown the clip, which resulted in her bursting into tears.
But the figure has since increased to 2,525, and Ofcom are still working out whether the episode breached "broadcasting rules".
An Ofcom spokeswoman told BANG Showbiz: "We are considering these complaints against our broadcasting rules, before deciding whether or not to investigate."
