Ethan Lawrence was petrified of an imaginary ghost during his childhood.
The actor stars as a paranormal investigator in the new movie ‘Up All Night’ and has revealed that during his youth, he lived in fear of what he mistakenly thought to be a ghost living in his bedroom.
Ethan – who appears alongside the likes of Dionne Bromfield and David Mitchell – told BANG Showbiz: "There was a time when I was young when I was convinced there was a ghost in my room.
"But it only ever appeared during the summer. And it took me an embarrassingly long time to realise that it was just an open window with the wind blowing through it that made the curtains twitch a bit.
"So, yeah, that was my only real experience of anything paranormal outside of films, TV shows, video games and things like that."
Ethan – who is best known for starring alongside British comedian Jack Whitehall in the ‘Bad Education’ franchise – revealed he was drawn to appear in ‘Up All Night’ because of the script.
He said: "I really like the way the dialogue was written and I really like the way my character conducts himself. And I thought to myself that this was a part that I can do a good job with. Yeah, this is a part that I can really handle.
"So, I was keen to do the audition, did it, and was very glad to be offered the part."
