Ethan Hawke to star in Stockholm opposite Noomi Rapace

Ethan Hawke has signed up to ‘Stockholm’ thriller.
The 46-year-old actor has been cast in the new bank heist movie, written-and-directed by Born To Be Blue’s’ Robert Budreau, which is partly inspired by Daniel Lang’s 1974 New Yorker article ‘The Bank Drama’.
The story is centred on how a group of robbers took hostages at a Stockholm bank, only for those under threat to bond with their captors and go against the authorities.
Speaking about the casting, Jonathan Kier said: "With Robert’s creative direction coupled with Ethan and Noomi’s tremendous talents, we are certain audiences around the globe will be captivated by this thrilling true story. ‘Stockholm’ will offer moviegoers a raw glimpse into intense events that transpired over four decades ago coining a psychological condition that still intrigues the world today,"
The casting will see Hawke and Budreau reunite for the first time since they worked together on 2015 drama ‘Born To Be Blue’ in which Hawke starred as jazz legend Chet Baker.
It is not yet known who Hawke or Rapace will play in the film but Sierra/ Affinity hope to sell the rights at the European Film Market held in Berlin next month.
Scott Aversano and Will Russell-Shapiro will executive produce and oversee the thriller for Aversano Films along with Jason Blum via Blumhouse Productions.
Nicholas Tabarrok will produce under Darius Films, with Budreau via Lumanity and Jonathan Bronfman through JoBro Productions.
William Santor, John Hills and Andrew Chang-Sang are also executive producing for financier Productivity Media.
Shooting is due to begin in April.
