Emmerdale’s Claire King: Kim Tate’s love of her life was Dave Glover

‘Emmerdale’ star Claire King believes her alter ego Kim Tate’s love of her life was Dave Glover (Ian Kelsey) – until she met the late Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough).
To this date, the pair’s affair is regarded as one of the most sordid in soap history, and Claire still believes there is a chance that her son Jamie (Alex Lincoln) could have been Dave’s, not her late husband Frank Tate’s (Norman Bowler).
Claire told Metro.co.uk: "I honestly believe that he was. I think she still believes that it was possibly Dave’s baby.
"Frank went to get a test done but he had to bribe them so there’s still that grey area although Jamie thinks Frank’s his father and Kim’s let that ride.
"I think in her heart of heart she still thinks there’s a possibility it could be his. He was definitely the love of her life up until Graham."
Frank flung Kim out on Christmas Day 1992 after her affair with The Rt Hon. Neil Kincaid (Brian Deacon), but they went on to remarry after going through the infamous plane crash disaster that devastated the Yorkshire village between the end of 1993 and the start of 1994.
Their tumultuous marriage was torn apart once again, when young farmhand Dave came onto the scene, but he was killed off on Christmas Day in 1996, after he saved their son Jamie from a fire at Home Farm.
Frank ended up dying of a heart attack a year later, as evil Kim watched on.
Claire would love to see Ian return as Dave on ‘Emmerdale’, though that might be difficult considering he died in the fire, but she says he’s often joked about having a "twin brother" who could make his debut on the ITV show.
She added: "It was one of those that gripped everybody.
"It was as shame that Ian Kelsey decided to leave and died in a fire, but as he says he probably had a twin brother that could always come back.
"They were a great couple and worked well together. They were good, fun times. If anyone could come back I would love it to be him."
