Emmerdale’s Bradley Johnson loves working with Reece Dinsdale

Bradley Johnson was "delighted" when he found out Reece Dinsdale was playing his on-screen dad.
The ‘Emmerdale’ actor – who has played Vinny Dingle on the ITV show since January 2019 – was overjoyed to get the chance to work with the 60-year-old veteran, who portrays his biological father Paul Ashdale.
He said: "When they told me it was Reece, I was delighted. I’ve seen him on various TV shows, so I did a bit of digging and thought, ‘OMG, this guy is a phenomenal actor!’
"When he came on set, we just bonded. Reece is such a down to earth, lovely guy and it has been a pleasure to work with him and I can’t wait to get back to it!"
Reece’s character has been posing as ‘Alex’, Vinny’s new friend on the scrapyard – and Bradley’s alter ego has no idea he’s really hanging out with his dad.
Vinny’s mum Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley) has previously sent Paul away in an attempt to keep her adopted son from meeting him.
Commenting on how it will all unfold, he added: "I don’t think it’s going to be plain sailing and they won’t just move on, I think it’s going to be a pretty big bombshell.
"With Mandy not being Vinny’s biological mother, he’s not really got any blood family.
"So when Paul comes into his life and is his blood, it is going to change things, and people do change. It will be a lot of confusion for Vinny – he won’t know what to think and what to do!"
And he teased that the secrets being kept mean the situation will be even more tense when the truth "comes out".
He explained: "[Mandy] thinks ‘Great, he’s met a friend’ and it adds to the poison of when it comes out and everyone finds out that Alex isn’t who he says he is."
